We fixed the funnel before spending the budget.

A studio chain spending on ads with no idea which ones produced members.

Loop Fitness achieved a 4.6× return on ad spend and reduced cost per member by 38% by first rebuilding the trial booking flow and conversion tracking, then restructuring campaigns around cost per member instead of cost per click.

4.6×return on ad spend
−38%cost per member
2.4×trial-to-member conversion

The problem

Loop was spending steadily on ads with no attribution past the click. Nobody could say which campaigns produced members rather than trials.

What we did

We declined to increase ad spend in month one. The booking flow lost most people at the trial-signup step, so we rebuilt that first.

  • Rebuilt the trial booking flow, cutting it from five steps to two
  • Proper conversion tracking from ad click through to paid membership
  • Rebuilt campaigns around cost per member, not cost per click
  • Automated the trial-to-member follow-up sequence

The results

Same budget, 4.6× return on ad spend, and cost per member down 38%. Most of the gain came from the funnel fix, not the ad spend.

Frequently asked questions

Should I fix my website or run ads first?

Fix the site first if it does not convert. Paid traffic to a leaky page just spends money faster. We check conversion before recommending spend.

(Feedback)

In the client's words.

We came for ads and left with a working funnel. They rebuilt the booking flow first, then spent our budget — which is why it worked.
